CoP minister urges Christians to observe handwashing as Bible prescribes

A Minister of the Church of Pentcost (COP) has urged Christians on Sunday to observe Handwashing as a biblical requirement.
Pastor Alexander Kwadzo Agbozo, Akatsi District Pastor of Cop, made this call during the Global Handwashing Day National celebration at Akatsi in the Volta Region.
Quoting from Deuteronomy 23:12-16, Pastor Agbozo reminded Christians And all Ghanaians that God intended his worshippers to adhere to strict Hygiene rules both for Faith and Health puroses.
He also cited Exodus 30:17-21 Where God instructed the priests to ensure that there were Handwashing basins for cleansing in the temple, emohasising that people who did not adhere to this rule were to be put to death.
“Christian Life starts with the cleansing of the entire body through baptism in water, and so Christians need to take Handwashing and Sanitation seriously,” Pastor Agbozo admonished.
The 2023 Global Handwashig Day is themed, “Clean Hands are Within Reach,” and the national event is being held at the Church of Pentecost in Akatsi,.
Volta Region with Regional Minister Archibold Letsa and Chief Executive of the Community Water and Sanitation Agency (CWSA), the organization in charge of the national celebration, as special guests of honour.
Theodora Adomako-Adjei, Extension Services Coordinator for CWSA, said the health and well-being of the individual is at the heart of Handwashing.
“The national celebration is to remind all Ghanaians that through good Handwashing we can protect our health and well-being,” Madam Adomako-Adjei stated.
